Orbbec Gemini 435Le not working

Hello,

I know that Orbbec Gemini 435Le is not listed in the devices tested by Derivative, but would there be a way to make it work with Orbbec TOP?

I’m getting an error “Trying to create device that doesn’t exist or removed!, name=Unknown, pid=2069, SN/ID=CP48B5400AD”

TouchDesigner clearly sees the device but the TOP isn’t able to communicate with it properly.

Closing TD also causes a crash with no text in the crash popup and a 0KB crash dump.

It looks like Gemini 435Le is unfortunately not supported for the SDK version we are using. TouchDesigner currently uses SDK v1, but Gemini 435Le will require SDK v2.

We have started some internal discussions about upgrading to SDK v2, but we have no set plans yet. It’s just on the radar for now, so we do hope to expose Orbbec SDK v2 natively in TouchDesigner in the future.

thank you for your quick reply! We’ll have to use a different route since we need the project to be done in a month.
I think it would be great to have the SDK limitation noted in the user guide for Orbbec TOP.

Thanks for the suggestion. I’ve updated the Orbbec TOP wiki to include a note about the limitations of the SDK version.
