Hi there! McGuire here. Looking for a TouchDesigner expert in NYC to help us finish a live, audio-reactive lighting experiment for violin, piano, and vocals.
We’re working with 9 strands of Philips Hue Festavia globe lights in which will later be set up in an outdoor tent. We already have the hardware, networking, Hue API access, and basic TouchDesigner to Hue control working. All of the Festavia strands expose controllable zones through the Hue API, and we need someone on the TD side who can help us turn that into something beautiful and genuinely musical.
The goal is to build effects where live performance can trigger things like:
- light/color rippling outward from the musicians through the installation
- cascades and waves across spatially mapped zones
- amplitude/transients controlling intensity and movement
- selectable color variables/palettes so the same effect can emanate in red, green, blue, etc.
- different behaviors for violin, piano, and vocals
- a few strong presets we can reliably trigger during a live performance
We need someone who is strong both technically and creatively comfortable with TD audio analysis, CHOPs, and translating musical input into really cool visuals. This is much more on the classical/romantic music side.
We have this set up in our studio in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Tight turnaround: ideally 3–4 hours tomorrow (Friday) and a few additional hours Saturday.
