often when I toggle the parameter window on it obscures a good portion of the width of my work space and wont allow me to reduce its width or height . I’d take a sscreen shot, but I’m new to windows as well
sounds like normal behaviour. You can toggle the parameter window though by hitting ‘p’.
Alternatively you could split the pane via the ‘Pane Options’ drop-down menu or by hitting ‘Alt+[’, then set the new pane type to Parameters or hit ‘Alt+7’. The last thing for you to link the 2 panes so that the Parameters are always following your current node selection.
I dunno if I’m being clear, but here’s a screengrab.
essentially the parameters window toggles properly, but wont let me make it any less wide than almost the full width of my screen (as in the screengrab- i.e. params window wont go smaller in width than this). it seems to only happen on a particular project, so I’m wondering if I’ve somehow confused TOuch windows placement and corrupted that particular projects’ display prefs.
I guess I should try and copy/paste the entire project into a new touch project with fresh defaults.
Just to make sure, youve tried grabbing the left edge of the parameter dialog to resize?
What if you toggle the bullseye shaped icon in the parameter dialog?
I noticed it seemed to be attached to one particular op, so I deleted and replaced that op- I think its gone away ? I will report if it returns.
One thing that I should mention is that I’m using 2 different types of Nvidia cards. I have gts250 in the x16 slot and a 9500gt in an x4 slot. Is this a possible issue? Seems to work well, otherwise. I’ve heard murmurings in the past that touch requires multiple cards to be of the same brand and model. Is this true?
c.o’d
ps tried the double ‘g’ key but that only brought up a ‘group’ window and took it away. Also tried the ‘target’ toggle and grabbing the left edge of param window- the only thing that worked was to replace the operator with a fresh one.(audioin)
I’ve sent the file to ‘support’ even though the issue has gone away (except for my older files-still stick)
If it’s working good for you then that’s great. In the past my experience is that performance is worse with 2 Geforce cards in the system than one. You can look at the article in our wiki on multiple graphics card for more info.
thanks Malcom, that was an interesting read on multi -cards
. I haven’t seen any obvious issues with the 2 cards yet , but I’m not really sure how to A/B performance at this juncture.
