ParticleSOP without life or death of particles

Is it possible to use the ParticleSOP so that it does not emit particles?

I would like to create a static particle system like I can create with the ConvertSOP, but use the forces, attractors etc available in the ParticleSOP.

I saw a few posts that mention with no normals and “modify source geometry” selected in the ParticleSOP, we can remove the initial motion, but not how I can avoid the life and birth of particles.

Any ideas?

You might consider the Spring SOP. It’s not cheap, but does have some similar behaviors to the Particle SOP.

Is there some way to accelerate particles towards a surface/meta ball, like the surface attraction on the ParticleSOP? The Magnet SOP seems to displaces particles.
