perfmon: what is "waiting for audio read"?

I’m getting these long waits listed in the perf monitor as
waiting for audio read

I’m assuming it’s because I have too many audio stream opened - although I try to lock the ones I’m not using (there doesn’t seem to be any other way to stop an audio stream from cooking BTW).

But I’d just like confirmation as to the cause of this message.

It’s pausing reading data from the disk, or decoding it. If you turn off the On/Off parameter the node may still cook, but it won’t read from disk anymore
