Permanent install PC - lowest processing requirements - low budget

I’m putting together a permanent installation on a tight budget, and looking at mini pc’s suited to the task.

I want to clarify that I am only using this to make basic number calculations and ultimately output DMX data to an ENTTEC box. Therefore, nothing graphics intensive - no TOPs at all actually.

With this in mind, what are the minimum specs i could shoot for, for a budget permanent install? Would i be able to use a mini PC without a dedicated GPU (i.e. using integrated graphics)? BTW I assume as my needs are very simple, i could use an older version of Touchdesigner with lesser requirements, i’m not against that.

And does anyone have any recommendations for mini PCs that will run stable for a long time? Would something like this be suitable? https://www.stonerefurb.co.uk/hp-elitedesk-800-g2-i5-6500t-2-50ghz-8gb-ram-240gb-ssd

Any help much appreciated

If you aren’t using TOPs at all then yes an integrated Intel GPU is the way to go. As long as the GPU supports Vulkan 1.1 (since it will still need some functionality to start up), then you are good to go.

Do you know if the older versions of Touchdesigner have their system requirements posted anywhere?

I think the very low cost (and slightly older) mini PCs im looking at don’t have Vulkan 1.1 support, but as I’m doing simple data computation and no graphics, I’m thinking an older version of Touch could work - as long as it will start up!
