However, just a warning that only some of this CHOP’s features are working properly. This CHOP is as it was in Houdini 4.1, originally intended for non-realtime audio analysis. It was never updated to work in realtime, and does not work well with timesliced data. That said, I have played with it and you can get some useful data from it, just don’t expect everything to be working 100%.

very cool node, i didn’t know it’s not meant for realtime audio analysis. What is the best node to use for FFT style bang generation … splitting up the frequency of an incoming audio signal, split it into bands and generate bangs with a volume threshold on each band ?
The Spectrum CHOP is also useful. I’d recommend looking at the component in the Palette called “Equalizer”. I think its in the Tools folder in the Palette.
