I am in the process of posting a couple of workshops and events that are scheduled over the coming months and as far as I can see posts are sorted by date of posting.
Now workshops and events have dates where they happen and those dates are in a way more relevant than the day they were posted.
But there seems to be no setting to sort them by the time they actually happen.
So, when I post a workshop scheduled for September today, nobody will see it in September,
as it will be listed as an April item - when it was posted and many thing will have moved in front of it. Also, it is very difficult to get an overview, when stuff will happen.
Of course one could be disciplined and only post just a week before, but that kind of undermines the idea of long term planning…
You see? April comes ‘after’ June.
Of course this makes only sense for events and workshop, not for community posts.
I would go as far as saying that should be the default listing, but as the listing allows for different ordering it should be easy to add sorting by event date instead of just “most recent”
