Hi I’m having major problems getting ply files to work in my macbook. With the Point File In Top- I’ve managed to get one scan to work but all the others (tried about 5 others), the error says the resolution is too large. I tried the Point File In POP- and none of the ply files are working (also tried various obj files). Have tried dragging and dropping the ply, uploading the ply via the POP, nothing works. The POP error is saying that the nx/ny/nz fields aren’t found and that the colour fields r/g/b/a aren’t found either. Am trying to convert to ASCII but having a lot of problems (Cloudcompare didn’t work on my Mac OSTahoe). Have spent ages on this- can anyone out there help? Thanks ![]()
Hi @NilB,
can you link to an example ply file you are having trouble with - this would help us identify the issue.
Are you seeing errors or are these warnings?
For example the Point File In TOP’s resolution message, what is the concrete message you are getting? Is it just related to using a Non-Commercial license which is limited to a texture resolution of 1280x1280?
The Point File In POP’s message about fields not being found, is this rather a warning and you have to select the right fields from the parameter menu where the fields are listed?
cheers
