Pointcloud density artifact

I have a quality loss problem when passing a point cloud from cloud compare to TD… The original cloud has 32 million points, which I reduce to 18 in cloudcompare. In TD I have tried to keep the original resolution in the processing and to render up to 4096*4096, but I still get some areas with density loss that I am not able to manage: I have tried several options with the smoothness viewer, resampling in TD, materia… always with very little success. Any ideas?

Thank you very much

I´m quite sure there is a problem with the ply obtained from cloudcompare because I am not able to rotate it with pointransform neither…

You can see where you are consuming GPU and CPU memory using the palette tool “probe”. Perhaps you are hitting some system memory limits.

Hi Greg,

I´ve solved it right now correcting the gobal shift position in cloud compare. As son as I fixed that the artifacts disappeared. I don´t understand the relation between both things.

Before that I tought the same about the memory and I´ve tried subsamplig the poincloud with no results.

Thanks for your suggestion.
