Problems with Derivative TouchDesigner 2023.10020 and Intel Arc – Any Advice?

Hello everyone,

I’ve been experiencing persistent issues running Derivative TouchDesigner 2023.10020 with the Intel Arc graphics card [ https://www.lenovo.com/ca/en/glossary/intel-arc-graphics/ ], and I’m hoping someone else in the community might have some insight or potential solutions.

The main problems I’ve encountered so far include:

  • Significant frame rate drops when handling moderately complex real-time visuals

  • Visual glitches, such as flickering or artifacts, especially with 3D components or heavy GPU shaders

  • Frequent crashes when switching between perform mode and the network editor or when loading multiple media assets quickly

I’ve also tried earlier versions of the Arc drivers to see if there was any improvement, but while some issues were slightly less severe, the overall instability persisted.

Here’s what I’ve attempted so far:

  • Full clean installs of both TouchDesigner and Intel Arc drivers

  • Adjusting GPU settings via Arc Control (power, performance, and compatibility modes)

  • Disabling other GPU-accelerated apps and background processes

  • Running the same .toe project on an NVIDIA-based system (no issues there)

Has anyone had success using TouchDesigner 2023.10020? If so, are there particular driver versions, system settings, or project configurations that helped improve stability?

Any advice or workaround suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
