Hi everyone,
I’m trying to learn TouchDesigner using the Free version, and I keep running into a frustrating problem: all my video clips look pixelated, even when the resolution is below the Free version’s 1280×1280 limit.
Here’s what I’ve tried so far:
-
Downloaded free stock clips from Pexels and Mixkit, including clips around 1280×720.
-
Checked in QuickTime — the videos look sharp before importing into TouchDesigner.
-
Adjusted the Movie TOP resolution to match the video’s native resolution.
-
Made sure I’m viewing in floating viewer / 1:1 pixel mode, and not upscaling inside TouchDesigner.
Even after all that, the clips still look blurry or pixelated inside TouchDesigner Free. I’ve also seen the yellow triangle warning about resolution before, but it persists even when the clip is under the cap.
I’m not sure if the problem is Free TouchDesigner’s texture handling, the source video, or something in my network/TOP setup.
I would really appreciate any advice on how to get videos to look sharp in TouchDesigner Free, recommended sources or settings for stock clips that actually work under 1280×1280, or any workflow tips for editing, importing, and displaying videos.
Thanks in advance.
