Project events log

Hello

There is a way to see a log file of every event, im having troubles with one of the lidars connected to my project ( unreal engine) sensor seems to work fine , actually Im using 2 lidars, and only one is not working.

If there is a way to see in touch designer if the sensor stopped to send signal… or there is some issue will be great .

Thanks

Hey,

There are no specific general logs to turn on. Can you give us more details about the sensor you are using (brand/model), and how it is failing? Are you on Windows or macOS?

Sorry, I should clarify, there are general logs such as the Error Dialog. However I don’t think they will help diagnosing this issue. If we can get more details about the specific setup we can likely give some guidance though.

Hey

Lidars are connected to the pc to track movement and display an event, such as blooming flowers while you walk through. Lidar detects the field and when light beam is interrupted an event is created. Im using 2 lidars, both are working fine, but after the message of the codemeter runtime, it starts to fail… i need to see if the events from the lidar are registered, then i can see when it start to fail.

Do you know what model of lidar sensor you are using? Is it a Hokuyo or an Ouster, or something else and how are you connecting to that sensor from TouchDesigner?

Hokuyo UST 10LX, it goes directly to a router via LAN ( both sensors were working pretty fine for 6 months day after day) … this is not happening always… need to understand what is causing it to stop sending signal.

Does the one sensor not work at all, or is it just after a certain amount of time it stops working?

i works fine for a day and suddenly it start failing after hours of use… but its not everyday.

Are you still getting that CodeMeter dialog after clicking ‘Yes’ to allow it to make the changes to the system it needs to make?

i have deactivated that message…is posible that the program is trying to make some changes.??

Can you elaborate by what you mean by ‘deactivated’?
Yes, CodeMeter is likely trying to make a change to make sure it can function correctly. If you didn’t allow it to make the change then it may not work correctly.

I have disabled the program’s dialog boxes to prevent them from interrupting when our project is running.

Did those dialogs keep coming up after you said yes and let it do the changes it needed to do to the system? If you don’t want the CodeMeter software on your system, then you should move to a software based license instead of using a CodeMeter dongle/cloud license.

I’m not sure this really answers why the LIDAR is failing, but it’s good to have things is a good working state to avoid side-effects.

Can you also tell us what version of the CodeMeter software you are currently running? I’ve gotten another report now of this happening randomly to another person, so it would be good to resolve this for you.

I just got word from CodeMeter that this dialog is a known issue with older versions of their software, which we currently ship with. If you install the latest version of the CodeMeter Runtime from their website, this should be resolved.
Our future installers will have the newest version

Malcolm
So, I only need to download the latest version and install … this will not affect touch designer license. No extra steps needed …

Thanks for your guidance .

It should fix that popup dialog, although it’s it’s unlikely to fix your LIDAR issue. If you can give more details to the other questions asked by Eric and Rob, that would help.

Sensor is working fine , I assume it stop working when this dialog appear behind the app … just guessing . It doesn’t happen often .
