I’m currently making visuals for a dance show in Taipei, the performances will be in a large theatre (900 seats). I will be projecting from the auditorium onto the cyclorama which is 16m wide and 7m tall. The throw distance will be about 30m or so.
Has anyone had and similar experience in a theatre of this size? What sort of projector would be suitible?

Hi Adam,
I’d try for a beamer with 3500 Lumens or more… make sure to get something with good keystoning options.
We ended up using one of these in Taipei.

With 15000 lumins and a 2000:1 contrast ratio it really did the job well and was a pleasure to use. It has many different lens options so you have to do some calculations to pick the correct one for the job.
What about a projector for home usage? Playing around with TD and show it on the big screen? Still recommend a lumen 3500+ ?
