Just received an OEM machine for a permanent install, it’s got a higher spec that the development machine that we were using to create the patch but for some reason getting half the FPS on it. Listing the specs of the new machine below -
Quadro RTX4000ADA
Intel Ultra 9 285k
64GB RAM
Development machine has a 3080ti. All drivers are up to date, the RTX drivers are on v581.
The 4000 Ada is not really higher spc then a 3080Ti. Raw performance of the 4000Ada is below 3080Ti (not by an extrem amount but measure able). It is a good card but if you do not consider for it you can get issues.
Half the frame rate sounds a little bit hefty though.
If it is exactly half, (as in 30Hz) check that the display is actually running on full frame rate as TD is by default vSynced and locked to the displays refresh rate.
Most Samsung signage displays for example will run on 4k30 by default for some godforsaken reason, even though they are total capable of running 4k60
But if you are getting half, then the advice above is likely on the right track. You may be hitting a 30hz display. Or you may be just barely not making 60hz anymore, and thus you are getting clamped down to 30hz since you can’t maintain 60hz.
Hey, yeah I think this was definitely one of the issues, changed the hz to 60 on the monitor and now performance is definitely a lot better! Thanks for this.
Another issue we’re having is that Touch Engine isn’t working, says the GPU doesn’t support it, wanted to offload certain processes to another thread, you’ll know any workaround for this?
Said it’s not supported, reset the Nvidia settings via the control panel and seems to be working again now. Took a few restarts and all seems to be good.
