Question about "High Performance Read" in Movie File In

Hello,

Is the “High Performance Read” option in Movie File In TOP the same thing as Microsoft’s DirectStorage or Nvidia’s GPUDirect? Is it available for all GPUs? Does it need the “DirectStorage” option in the BIOS to be turned on? What about Resizable BAR?

The wiki doesn’t tell if it’s using this technology where it skips communication with the CPU to reduce latency. But it does mention “Async Upload to GPU” but I guess it was removed from TD? It’s not showing up for me.

This is just for my curiosity to understand how TD works in the background and how I can optimize for very low latency, I guess it would make sense if I’m loading many many videos at once?

Thanks for the question, I’ve updated the help with more information:

But no, it not using a GPU related feature. It’s purely a OS CPU disk/memory optimization using what is known as unbuffered reading.
