what video cards should I use to have 12 video outputs to use with TD?
I’ve read the forum and found that NVidia Quadro is better and less buggy choice (than AMD Eyefinity, smth+Matrox triplehead2go or datapath x4)
and only first card will do the work.
So I think first card will be Quadro 4000. What for other?
What resolution is each output going to be?
1280x720 each output, pan mode
You can probably do that connection wise with 4 DataPath X4s and a single Quadro. Possibly a K5000 or K6000, depeneding on what your content requirements are. The X4s are very reliable we’ve found.

I have run all four outputs of a K5000 at 3840 x 720 into four X4’s to make 16 720p outputs and got full frame rates (not with TD, but still).
Be aware that you may not be able to put the whole span of outputs into one row - there’s a limit in Nvidia’s frame buffers. I did two rows, so a total of 7680 x 1440.
Every X4 output is 1:1 pixels in that case - very cool.

And yes, the output will be synced and reliable.
Also not recommended going the geforce route since you’re using so many outputs. You never know with tearing. Being on-site, having a tearing issue, and no access to quick gear change outs is quite terrifying!
What do you mean by “(not with TD, but still).”?
I’m need to build system with 16 outputs, but with real time output warping on all 16 outputs, and i would really like to use TD for that.
Thing is that i have projectors with native 1400x1050 resolution so i dont think i could use one Quadro and 4x DP X4 since, if I’m correct, nor Quadro can output 5600x4200 on a single output nor X4 can receive more than 4Kx4K.
I leave possibility to limit projectors to 1024x768 but even then i don’t think Quadro can output 4096x3072 on a single output.
I’m open for suggestions. Have anyone ever tried to connect 4x Quadro K5000 card in a single machine and had TD work with that nicely?

Yes, I have 4 k5000 (swaplocked via quadro sync) using gpu affinity for optimal performance. All with warp and blend. I’m outputting 12x1920x1200 on gpu1-3 and 2x 1920x1200 on gpu0
That’s what I needed to hear, because it is not a cheap machine to buy if you are not completely sure. Thanks for that.
Since I will be using all outputs for projectors is it possible to do all setup and configuration through remote desktop and to start up all outputs:

You likely won’t find a machine with room for 4 k5000 and quadro sync card that operates on i7. I’m using supermicro gpu servers with room for those 5 cards plus additional capture card and raid controller . these use xeons, but watch out, some boards (not sure it is the case with supermicro) need 2 CPUs installed for all x16 slots to work. The rest depends on your use case, but you likely want a bunch of ssd drives and min 16 gig ram (if using affinity)
I think we paid 18k EUR for this configuration.
Yes I’m aware that it’s not usual situation where you need 4 GPU + sync card in one machine and that it will require specialised hardware. Also my guess about the price was pretty close.
Now i need to decide to cut on resoultion and go with X4’s or this (high) way.

Yes, its 122W per Quadro K5000 so like Dr. Emmett Brown would say:
“One point twenty one jiggawatts!” 
And you will need TD pro for sync/framelock

Look like it can have 4 cards Synchronization together for 24 output! Does these one recommended hardware for 12 video outputs solutions in Touch designer?
We haven’t tested multiple AMD cards in a system at once, but we don’t support GPU affinity on AMD cards so your results may vary. There is more information on the subject here:

For 12 outputs my suggestion would be a single Quadro K6000 and 3 Datapath X4s
