I’m working on a project using video data (h,s,v and r,g,b) to create midi cc messages. I am able to get these messages into ableton live via a few clunky methods but I’m finding its not frame rate accurate.
Is there a way to have touch designer render a frame by frame midi file (not in real time) of the data I’m extracting from the video that I can then import into ableton to continue the project? I have all the channels I’m wanting to track going into a merge CHOP and I can see the data in the record CHOP but I have not yet been able to create a midi file or a non-real time render.
the Midi Out CHOP has an option under Midi Destination to write to file. It should be possible to input the recorded channels, properly named after the prefixes specified in the operator. There is a Write MIDI File parameter that outputs the whole input to file.
I did see that within the Midi Out CHOP, however Im not sure how to input the recorded channels as well as have the render write to midi file frame by frame versus realtime.
you can use the Record CHOP to record all data as an input to the Midi Out CHOP and at the end of the timeline pulse the “Write Midi File” parameter of the Midi Out CHOP.
