Hi, I recently downloaded the free version of TouchDesigner, I’m using a 2019 Macbook Pro which I thought would be sufficient but every time I try to use the kantanMapper to add a shape, this error comes up, with 2 more errors saying that the app is crashing and I need to update my macOS. However I already updated my macOS to the most recent version, and I still keep getting this issue… all the other posts I’ve seen about this have been able to pinpoint it down to a specific setting or something but I’ve barely used the software and I have this problem.
Hi @pinkapoppy,
sorry you are having these issues. Could you share the TouchDesigner version and build you are using as well as the model and OS of your Mac?
cheers
Markus
Hi, I’m on MacOS Sequoia 15.3 which is up to date, I have a MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2020, Four Thunderbolt 3 ports) model no. A2251. I’m not sure if this is right but when I select ‘About TouchDesigner’ it shows this image, which I’m guessing is my version/build?
Hi @pinkapoppy and @snaut,
I am experiencing the same issue after updating to Sequoia 15.3.1. Sometimes touchdesigner will not open at all and crash the computer. Im on MacOS Sequoia 15.3.1 M2 Max Pro 32g and using the same build as @pinkapoppy. It was working fine prior to the OS update
Hi @snaut , any updates on what @oscei and I could do? It’s a frustrating problem and it’s been pretty consistent for me, interestingly there’s been a couple times I’ve been able to get it working (although it’s still tempermental with the points of shapes in kantanMapper not showing up, weird stuff happening with layer order etc.), but there doesn’t seem to be a particular pattern of when the issue appears. I always shut down all other applications on my laptop, and only use my laptop’s monitor and it still crashes if I try to interact with anything in the kantanMapper.
Thank you so much for your help
hi @pinkapoppy are there steps you do that reliably reproduce the problem, or is it fairly random? It’d be helpful to have detailed instructions to help us reproduce it here, if you’re able to find a series of actions to trigger it. Thanks.
