Regular freezing when interacting with dialog windows

Over the past few weeks I’ve been encountering regular freezing, but no crash so no logs, seemingly always when opening/interacting with a floating window over the main interface, often just the Op Create dialog. As of today I finally came across a repeatable scenario, which is depicted in the video. This is with the current download of TD Morph from Github, in case anyone is trying to reproduce on your end. I’m running Windows 11 and the crash happens with the most current NVidia drivers, both Studio and Game Ready versions. I’d really like to get this stabilized, as I have a show in a week and a half.

Hello,

As a first step, make sure that all your drivers, including integrated graphic drivers, are up to date and that your machine is free of bloatware.

Make sure that TouchDesigner is fully up to date to the latest stable build available.

The Bulk Crap Uninstaller helps in identifying unwanted or unneeded software: https://www.bcuninstaller.com/

Find the latest driver for your GPU at Official Drivers | NVIDIA
or use Nvidia Geforce Experience Update Drivers & Optimal Playable Settings

You can also make sure that your integrated GPU is running on the latest version available via Intel Driver Assistant.

You can use the AMD Adrenalin if you have an AMD Integrated GPU, in minimal install mode, via https://www.amd.com/en/support/download/drivers.html

:high_voltage::high_voltage::high_voltage: If your machine comes with a proprietary power management software (From Asus, Dell / Alienware.. etc), make sure that it’s setup properly to run TouchDesigner on the Nvidia / AMD DEDICATED GPU when plugged to power. Otherwise, it’s likely that TouchDesigner would run on the integrated graphics, hence it is important to also make sure your integrated graphics are up to date.

Hey Brandon,

Sorry you are having this issue. For the moment you can leave your system as-is, as it would be good to diagnose this a bit further in it’s current state.
Can you tell me more about your system configuration. Is it a laptop, and if so what GPUs (integrated and discreet) does it have.
Do you have Variable Refresh Rate turned on? We have a working theory it’s related to that.

Are you able to run this application:

Which gathers information about your system. Nvidia has asked for one of these to help with the bug report.
Thanks

I was able to reproduce finally on a laptop in the office, but only when both HDR and VRR was enabled. Is that the case for your machine?
