Possibly a bug? Camera, Geo and Phong all look correct, but the render top is flickering an unexpected result. .Toe attached as well as a video of the results I’m getting.
Are you able to share any more info about the system and the version of TouchDesigner you are using?
I’ve downloaded your file and tested in version 2022.29850 and I don’t seem to have any issues (apart from the Render TOP warning that there are no tangent attributes which can be fixed easily by enabling ‘Compute Tangents’ in the ‘Attribute Create’ SOP - with or without this setting enabled the render still appears normal).
To me it looks like it could be an incompatibility with a GPU or driver? Or maybe a bug with the new version of Touch - perhaps try an older version (I am unable to test a newer version as my licence is a bit old).
System:
CPU: Intel Core i9-13900K 3 GHz 24-Core Processor
Motherboard: Asus ProArt Z790-CREATOR WIFI ATX LGA1700 Motherboard
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws S5 64 GB (2 x 32 GB) DDR5-6400 CL32 Memory
Storage: Solidigm P44 Pro 2 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive
Storage: Crucial T700 2 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 5.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive
Storage: Western Digital DC HC530 14 TB 3.5" 7200 RPM Internal Hard Drive
Video Card: MSI SUPRIM X GeForce RTX 4090 24 GB Video Card
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11 Pro OEM - DVD 64-bit
GPU Drivers are up to date - not that I would discount that from being the problem. I’m not too familiar with how TD works behind the scenes but I know GLSL can get a little messed up as it’s all maintained by the card manufactures.
I will try some other TD versions and see what’s what I suppose!
Thanks for checking the file. I got this method from a tutorial (repeated twice with same results) which got me thinking it was something hardware/software related and not incompetence lol.
Update: Tried the latest version of TD (thankfully my license is pretty recent) and it seems to be working fine. Occam’s razor? something something… easiest solution… best solution. Thanks for the help!
