Replacing missing files

I am in the process of moving my projects from one computer to the another. With that, a lot of MovieIn tops can’t find the path to the files they need. I was wondering if there was (as in Ableton) an automatic search and replace option to find the same file in different paths, so I don’t have to do that manually with every single top in every single project.

I have been trying to see if the Search/replace option can do that, but reading the tutorial I’m not certain how to use it for that.

In general there is a built in search and replace function in TD (alt+s), and also a searchReplace component in the Palette->Tools section.

You can search for the file name and replace it with the new one.

Hi @dubidubi,

this can be a bit an annoying process.
When you know that Assets might move location during the development of the project, a good tool to use is project.paths which allows for defining custom URIs that point to different paths on different machines.
