RESOLVED: Mac OS 10.14.6 can't show midi map

I am new to touch designer, and want to integrate it into my performance, however, I cannot open TD when I downloaded Maco arm64 apple silicon, so I downloaded the intel version. Now I can open it but my midi map doesn’t work as it should be (name would not change when create new midi device, midi values won’t show when I tweak on my controller, etc, no values shown on midi map, etc)

My mac specs:
Mac os Mojave 10.14.6 (18G103)
MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2018)
2.9 GHz Intel Core i9
32 GB 2400 MHz DDR4
Radeon Pro Vega 20 4 GB
Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB

Could anyone help me here?

Thank you!

Which build of TouchDesigner are you using?

Macos 2022.26590 Intel

Hi I hope I didn’t bother anyone here! anyone have any thoughts on this? or encountering same kind of problems?

Hey @lanelaneshi

You didn’t bother anyone, no worries.

Note that from the specs you shared, your machine is an Intel-based MacBook, not M1 (ARM). You should therefore always use MacOS Intel builds on this specific machine.

With that being said, we identified an issue with the current public build when using the Midi In CHOP, could you please download and install the build from the link below, give it a try and let us know if that helps?

Thank you! and absolutely!

downloading it now and I will give feedback after trying it!

Apologies, that temporarily posted build 26900 had too much untested work, we recommend using 2022.26650 above which has the MIDI fix without other untested changes that could cause you regressions.

After testing, I am thrilled to say the midi in and mapping worked!

I have one more question, when I add a device and rename it “APC mini” in Midi Mapper, the name should be changing accordingly for the “User Device Map”, however it didn’t change it into APC Mini, may I ask if that’s a common bug?

Thank you all!

Can confirm that is a new bug.
You can workaround this by manually editing the name where it is stored.

Go to /local/midi/userdevices and inside your newly created user device you will see a Table DAT called attributes. You can change the name directly there.
Thanks for the report.
