RESOLVED: Problem with opening a toe.file on Mac OS X

Hi everyone,

I have a technical question and hope you can help me. I started to use Touchdesigner a few months ago.

I use Touchdesigner 099 2019/19160 with my Macbook Pro Retina (2014) and Mojave 10.14.6.

There is one file that I cannot open since a few days (1,7MB).
I tried to use other versions of Touchdesigner like 2020.22080 or 2019/30790, but it does not work.
I tried to open other older versions of this file or to open the automatic Backup-files, but this didn’t work either. My computer becomes very loud and is freezing while the file is loading. The content of this file exists of a few nodes with particle-systems and a simple audio analysis that reacts to my music in there.

Can you help me with this? What else can I do to be able to open my file?

I am not sure if this is maybe up to my graphic card, or if some of the particles start in a wrong (= too big) way or something like that.

All other files I produced in Touchdesigner I can open with all versions of Touchdesigner.

I am very thankful for your answers and ideas.

Thanks a lot!

Regards,
Verena

Try to open the file in safe mode by prepending CrashAutoSave to your filename. This disables all cooking, so you can inspect and change settings that might cause the trouble.

thanks a lot!!! I tried the safe mode and changed some things in one of the GPU particle systems, now it works
