RESOLVED: TouchDesigner not Compatible with GeForce 520M?

Hi there,

I have just downloaded the latest build of TouchDesigner, as I’m testing out as a visualisation platform in my project. The problem is, when I try and run it, I get the error:

The installed video card or drivers do not support all of the features that TouchDesigner needs to run.
If you have an Nvidia or ATI video card, try upgrading your video drivers. Exiting.

My system specs are as follows:
Lenovo Ideapad Z570
Windows 7 64-Bit
Nvidia GeForce 520M (Drivers updated 24/03/12)
8GB RAM

Is there any reason as to why this isn’t working?

Thanks

Does the machine have optimus technology? If so make sure the geforce is selected as the opengl rendering gpu in the Nvidia driver settings.

Yes it does have Optimus Technology, I’m unsure as to how to check for the setting you mentioned. Should I be looking in the Nvidia control panel?

Problem solved!

Instead of using Optimus technology, it would seem Lenovo decided to put a physical switch on the front of the laptop to switch between graphics cards…Odd…

Thanks anyway.

Great, thanks for reporting your solution.
