RESOLVED: Two Kinect Azures Point Cloud flickering issue

Hi,

I want to use two Kinect Azures together.

Unfortunately, when I add them to my project and select point clouds and color textures for both, the point clouds start constantly flickering.

That only happens when I select also the color textures though. They both work fine with only point clouds selected.

So far I have found out that the issue is solved only if I change both Camera FPS to 15. But that’s not an ideal solution, I really prefer to get their data in 30 FPS.

Can you pls tell me why is this happening and hopefully, if there is a better solution? I am using TD 2023.12120 on Windows 10, RTX 3080 with up-to-date game-ready driver version 572.70.

It sounds like you’re running into a bandwidth limit on your USB port - the color images in particular use a lot of bandwidth. The Kinect can be a little picky about USB hubs and microsoft has a little information here on their troubleshooting page: Azure Kinect known issues and troubleshooting | Microsoft Learn

Thank you Rob for looking into this! Yes, that was it exactly - I confirm that changing the USB ports disabled flickering in the point clouds.
