RFE - Multi-component custom parameters

Hello everyone!

Firstly - since it’s my first post in the alpha forum - I have to say I’m amazed by the new POPs features. the sheer amount of functionality is mind-blowing! Huge thanks to the entire Derivative team for developing these gems, and to all the TD artists and developers who have contributed to refining such incredible features. I’m still getting familiar with everything, but I’ll be sure to share detailed feedback soon.

In the meantime, I noticed the new multi-component Menu and Toggle parameters. It’s great to see these additions, and I’d love to suggest extending these settings to custom parameters—for example, allowing us to create Menu or Toggle parameters with a size option of up to 4. It’s something I’ve always wanted, and I’m sure it would be a great utility for many users.

On a similar note, I observed that when opening the 2nd or 3rd component menus, the 1st component’s menu value is highlighted instead of their unique selected items.

Hello @pitheorem
Multi-component Menu and Toggle parameters should already be available. By using ParGoup.size, you can resize float, int and menu parameters.

I opened a bug for the wrong highlighted element on 2nd, 3rd or 4th menus. We will look at this soon.

@Guillaume.L @rob
Hey guys! Thanks for addressing and fixing the issue.

Regarding the multi-component custom parameter, I achieved the result using the parGroup.size command (I didn’t actually know that it was available since 2023 version). However, I’m wondering if this feature could be made available through the custom parameters dialog, as it would be more accessible. In any case, thanks for the tip @Guillaume.L!

I’ll dig into adding the size options to comp editor. Thanks for heads up!
