RTX6000 ADA and Blackmagic not working in 2025 builds

Hello, I have run into a problem with all 2025 versions not being able to output video using Video Device Out and a BlackMagic 8KDecklinkPro. If I go back to 2023 versions things seem to work as expected.

I have an RTX6000 ADA and P620 ThreadripperPro.

The best workaround I have so far is to Spout my2025 output into a 2023 version and then use that for the Video Out.

Windows 11.

Tested on: 2025.32460, 2025.32280, 2025.32050, 2025.31760

There appears to be sync, but the image is black.
I am also able to output video using Black Magic Media Express

What version of Blackmagic Desktop Video do you have installed? I have had best luck with v14.5. v16 had the behavior you are describing with the same hardware.

I have 16 and will see if I can go back to 14.5

Thank you for the tip. I will follow up after I give it a try

Jeff

Awesome tip. Rolling the Blackmagic Desktop Video app to 14.5 did the trick.
Output is working now

thanks again

Thanks for this report. In general the Drivers are supposed to be backwards compatible (and TD should be forwards compatible). I’ve contacted Blackmagic about this to see what can be improved, or if it’s just a bug.

The next build of the 2025 series we post will be compiled against the 16.0 SDK though (to support the new 100G ST2110 card), so you’ll need to update then.

Blackmagic confirmed this is a bug in the 16 series drivers. You shouldn’t need to go back to the 14, 15 should be fine. They are working on a fix.
