Running TouchDesigner on Linux via Bottles (my daily driver setup)

Hi everyone,

Like many of you, I’ve been wanting to use TouchDesigner on Linux for a long time. After a month of daily driving it, I’m happy to say it works beautifully once properly configured.

I’ve compiled all my findings, required dependencies, and UI fixes into a comprehensive GitHub repository to help anyone else making the switch.

The guide covers:

  • Optimized Bottles environment setup.

  • Essential Dependencies to prevent crashes.

  • UI Font Fix: I’ve included a method to fix invisible UI text (huge thanks to @c0deous for the .tox fix).

  • Desktop integration & Flatpak permissions.

GitHub Repository here.

I’m using this setup for daily creative work and haven’t encountered any significant bugs. If you have any questions or want to contribute to the guide for other distros, feel free!

Best, Iswad

This is great! Thanks for the tag

Really Cool.

It works for me on an old computer with 970 GPU and Brazzite.

Thx for the Text Fix too @c0deous
