Screengrab issue

Hi,

It seems that I can’t get correct movie out with the screengrab top.

Whatever the framerate and the codec I choose, with or without realtime activated, the movie out (also the export movie option) outputs a movie at twice or more the timecode speed (accelerated framerate).

I’m on windows 7 with latest nvidia drivers for my graphic card.

Thanks for any hint.

So, here is how i solved it.

The framerate with screengrab falls down to 15-20 FPS on my OS.

I let realtime on, and then export the FPS channel from /ui/dialogs/mainmenu/fps1 to the Movie FPS channel of the Movie Out.

The rendered movie will output at reasonnable framerate.

Edit: Adding directly the $FPS variable to the Movie FPS Channel doesn’t seem to work.

You could also try using the Export Movie dialog if you didn’t need real-time interaction with your interface. The Export Movie dialog does a non-realtime render so it captures all frames and assembles them at the correct frame rate.

Thanks Ben, i’m just seeing your post right now.

I did try the export movie option but the resulting movie has incorrect framerate (accelerated).

Since then, i discovered the perform chop which outputs the framerate. Exporting it into the movie FPS variable of the movie out solves the issue.

Hmm I’m having this same issue and tried exporting the FPS from the perform CHOP into the Movie Out TOP, but still getting movie files that about twice the speed. I tried putting a Math CHOP after the perform CHOP and dividing the FPS in half, but it’s still off (but closer), and I feel like I’m missing an easier fix.

Trying to export to h.264 and I’m in version 18260.

Ah think I fixed it by using the “Repeat Frames if Below Target Frame Rate” option on the Movie Out TOP. It’s a little slow, but that I know is just my GPU not being able to keep up.
