SDI input error

Hi, I’m trying to use an Nvidia SDI capture card, video shows up in the nvcap utility, but in TD I get the error “failed to lock OpenGL capture device”. I’ve tried 2 revs of Nvidia software, 276.42 and 285.58, running a Quadro 5000 and TD build 16920, Win7 64.

Any suggestions ?

Thanks,
Jeff

nvcap isnt running at the same time is it?

No, rebooted and launched TD first just to make sure something wasn’t resident after quitting nvcap. Any driver version you suggest ?

Does the WDM driver version match the graphic driver version (not numerically, but WDM linked from the gpu driver page)

Hmmm, don’t see the link you’re referring to. I did try installing the latest WDM, which is 1.265.01, along with the most recent Quadro driver, which is 276.42. Now even nvcap doesn’t work. Ugh. Guess I’ll try to match dates between drivers or ???

OK, found the latest proper pair of drivers, which are 276.42 for the Quadro and 1.275.01 for the SDI. Same thing, video looks fine in nvcap, can’t lock driver in TD. Any suggestions for another driver pair ?

OK, some progress here . . . the device I was feeding was sending out 487i, which worked OK in the nvcap, but not in TD. When feeding a 720p signal it now shows up fine in TD.

ok good information, I’ll look into that next week.

Also have found out that a Black Magic HDMI to SDI converter box does not recognize an iPad HDMI out as HD, even though every other device does. That is what I was having to default to 487i . . . Black Magic are not my favorite hardware manufacturer . . .
