A friend renewed the security system on his store gifted me the old one to see if I can give it some use. It has four Samsung cameras. I’ve searched on the forum with some dated solutions for Windows (I’m MacOS) so I don’t know what to try next to feed them to TD. Any ideas?
Do a port scan on the camera connected to your router or PC and see if it has an RTSP port open, port’s number is 554.
If it does, you can try using the Video Stream In TOP with the string rtsp://cameraip:554
in some cases a username and password are needed in the string, but that depends on the manufacturer, i never used Samsung IP cameras, but i’m sure there are many resources online

I’ve tried setting up regularly on the android app (old version since it’s no longer supported) and It could detect it but not connect to it. Also tried a bunch of URLs from this list without any luck, although I could see the Video Stream TOP was trying to connect. The cam is reseted so it should have user and password either, but tried with admin/admin. Lastly, the web interface is prompting me to download Internet Explorer to create an account. It didn’t work on Safari, Firefox or Chrome so I had to emulate IE from Chrome and it downloaded a Windows plugin which I installed using Crossover… It doesn’t work ofc.
I think I’ll contact Samsung but it’s probably a dead end.
What a waste of perfectly fine hardware bricked by software support.
