selective cook null

I’m a recent touchdesigner user and have a question about optimizing networks.

On my sytems/projects it often comes down to inserting nulls with selective cooking which makes me wonder why isn’t that behavior the default one for chop outputs and nulls chops?

Talking to Selina it turns out my information may be outdated. The main cost of the Selective cooking is actuall upstream, as it requires the CHOP and all of it’s inputs to be cooking every frame to see if anything is cooking. Usually if nothing is using the CHOP downstream it won’t cook so it’s mainly good to turn on for CHOP that you know will always been cooking.
