Hi guys,
I’ve just started using Touchdesigner for just over a few weeks. Id like to ask how to send an audio CHOP to a specific input name. the input itself is a CHOP input but id like for the audio CHOP to send to all inputs with a specific name without having to connect all the lines. is that possible?
I’m not sure I fully understand, but if I do, then I think you’re looking for the Select CHOP. Drag your source onto it, then you can select what you want to actually grab by name, and then connect stuff from there. Select CHOPs are nice as you can easily grab data between components without extra wiring.
So sorry I wasn’t clear the first time round. Now that I read my question even I’m not sure what I was asking about.hopefully this post will clear things abit
I’m at the moment try to make some kind of media server to be able to play several .tox files in one show with little load times in between the changing of .tox files like the topic ‘show with multiple scenes’ [url]Show with multiple scenes - General TouchDesigner Discussion - TouchDesigner forum. and with that I used Itaru’s ‘loadSwitchCompTest79’ component as base for the ‘media server’ edited to accomodated my needs. In some of my ‘clips’ I’ve got a few CHOP ins to control some of its parameter, one an AudioIn Chop. As you might have known from the other thread, this component uses a clone to select and play the clips. If I connect the audio in or the other chop ins into the parent/master component, the clone, though it has the inputs doesnt get connected automatically. Now is there a way where I can ‘automatically’ connect the audio in and other in chops to the clone even though I change the source of the clone?
@elburz thanks for telling me what the Select Chop can do. Been wondering what that was for
Oh, and before telling me not to use a clone method for a media server type component, I’ve read through the other thread but I cant, or should I say haven’t fully understood on how this should be dealt with even through the explanation by Keithlostracco and the loadSwitchCompTest79 component was quite easy to understand so I used that as a starting point. I tried looking into Itaru’s TouchmixerII but I couldn’t understand how it worked, that and I’m also using 077 (if that really matters)
found a solution using the select Chop, which i think was what elburz meant from the beginning. I connected the Select CHOP to the receiving end of the component that uses the AudioIn Chop instead of putting it after the actual AudioIn and copy pasted the location of the AudioIn into the Select Chop. sorry if this all doesn’t make sense I’m just so happy to see the Component light up with some music
