setting a delay chop on audio kills frame rate

I want to delay the two audio channels by 3 frames before feeding into the audio out chop.
as I plop down a delay chop, which defaults to one second delay, the system comes to an almost stop. if I set it to 3 frames, it doesn’t quite stop but frame rate goes from 40-50 fps to 13-15 fps.

Ya, I see the same thing here. The Delay CHOP seems pretty messed up right now. I’d suggest using a Trail CHOP and a Trim CHOP instead to do this until the Delay CHOP gets fixed.

Here’s a sample that delays audio using a Trail, Shift and Timeslice CHOP.

The Trail Size is the maximum delay. The value in the Shift CHOP is the delay. You can ignore the Movie In, Movie Audio and Audio Out nodes, those are just to show it working.
