SOLVED: TouchEngine Unreal with Commercial Licence on Dongle

Hi

Using 4.26.2 and 2021:14360 and 0.9.2 version of plugin

The install looks fine and I can see the Blueprint Nodes but there is no Component to add to the blueprint?

I know I need a commercial licence but mine is on a dongle. Could this be the issue?

It works fine with 2021:14360 so its not out of date.

Thanks

Our licensing is only checked when the TouchEngine process launches. It won’t effect the UE editor at all. if you aren’t seeing a blueprint node the it’s something to do with the plugin not getting loaded correctly into UE.

Hey @technickirl

Not quite sure what you mean here - when you right-click your content browser you can add an actor TouchEngineActor or a TouchEngine Component (TouchEngineComponentBase).

The actor comes with a TouchEngine Component.

Does it help?

Thanks,
Michel

Yes that worked.

Thanks you.

When I add a simple blueprint actor I still cant add the Touch Engine component but that doesn’t matter now! Maybe I mis read the instructions.

Thanks for the reply. As you can see below it was my misunderstanding.

In terms of licensing we are developing a system which will eventually be a long term install and will run on TouchPlayer Commercial. While we develop I’ll be using Touch Designer and my dongles. Should I remove the effectively non commercial touch designer from the system when we are finished or will Touch Engine find the Commercial Touch Player anyway?

Thanks again for your excellent support.

it will use the highest available license on the computer it is running from. You cannot deactivate the non-commercial anyway

Yep, what @alphamoonbase said
