SOP to dat -> DAT to sop does not rebuild sop

if I plop down a grid sop, then have three SOP to dats (points/vertices/primitives)

then feed those to a DAT to sop, I see a grid without proper connectivity.

Am I missing something or is this a bug?

Obviously to make these ops useful one should be able to go back and forth seamlessly

Yes, Achim is correct in that your source SOP for the SOP to DAT needs to be polygons.
