Strange font rendering in Touchdesigners interface

So out of nowhere, the font rendering in Touchdesigner seems to act strange, regarding the user interface. It seems to affect most but not all of the text. Anyone knows what could be the issue here? Could it be windows?

Does anyone knows what font is being used in Touchdesigner? I can then check whether the file is corrupted

  • I didn’t update Touchdesigner nor changed anything of the preferences
  • I tried closing and opening
  • I tried restarting my computer
  • I’m running Touchdesigner 2022.31030

That is very strange indeed! Corrupted file seems possible. The first thing I’d try is uninstall reinstall. If that doesn’t fix it, please send computer specs.

@thevoyageofdesign

Can you also please make sure your graphic drivers are all up to date as well as confirm if the issue is occurring in the latest TouchDesigner version available?

You are using a version from December 2022. We had multiple releases since then, with many many bug fixes.

Best,
Michel

I’m not sure this will fix it, but you could also try deleting the shared font cache in your ‘C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Derivative\TouchDesigner099\FontCache’ folder. Touch will automatically rebuild the fonts when you load it again.

Thanks for the reply

So I did some investigation and it might be my Windows acting strange, I have the same font rendering issue in Chrome on very specific fonts, for example the bold text in this forum as well.

I did some Windows power shell repairs, and this seemed to fix the issue in Touchdesigner luckily. Although the issue seems to be still consistent in Chrome.

Another question, you say there are multiple releases already, does this mean that experimental is a stable build? I thought this may be a beta version, so didn’t download that newest version. So 2023.10130 is the newest stable build?

Thanks!

No, your screenshot is from 2022.31030.

Which is from December 2022.

Our latest stable build is 2022.35280
