I am trying to integrate a FLIR E54 thermal camera with TouchDesigner and stream its live thermal video in real time. The camera is now detected by my Windows PC after installing the required driver. However, I am unsure how to access its live thermal video stream in TouchDesigner.
Could you please advise me on the recommended method for receiving the FLIR camera’s live thermal stream in TouchDesigner? I would also appreciate any guidance on whether a specific protocol, or TouchDesigner operator is required for this integration.
Hey, although I havn’t tested a thermal cameras directly, the correct operator to use for this would be the Video Device In TOP.
I tried with the Video device in TOP, but the FLIR camera option is not showing there
Did you change the library to PointGrey/Flir?
Do we need to make any changes to the settings on the PC? FLIR Thermal Studio on the PC streams the video.
You shouldn’t, but it depends if this camera is supported by TouchDesigner. Can you post a screenshot of the settings in the Video Device In TOP?
What about the other option for the Spinnaker version of their driver? That is the newer one.
