Stuttering video on macmini

hi,

I have a dual monitor setup where i have an interface on a small screen and a full HD screen for a full HD video playback.

The interface consists in 30 video thumbnails and when i select a video (by touching the thumbnail) the video plays on the full hd screen.

Of course, every video is stopped on the interface except the actual one which is playing.

The video playback is really laggy and it seems having all the video thumbnails displayed could bring some ressource leak. Is that possible ?

This setup is made under TD latest stable version and runs on a macmini core i7 quad core 2.5GHz with 16 GB RAM. I used to playback 4 HD videos on this computer with other software like Millumin or VDMX.

Any clue ?

Thanks a lot

@Gallo you might do a little profiling to see what your resource use is looking like. Sometimes nested containers actually holding the video file use a little more memory than if you just cache the image.

@raganmd i have just fixed this as you were typing

Videos are encoded at 25 fps and TD was running at 60 fps. Things are much better when those two matches !

Things are running smoothly under other software without syncing those two parameters though… so i keep wondering why as the other software seems to adapt and TD not…

thanks

that will do it!

You can always change touch to match to the frame rate of the video - but that smooth 60fps is so so nice.

well this is TD that i forced to match the video framerate
