I am hoping to write a grant proposal for 1-3 indoor displays I could use in a high ambient light entrance atrium which would wash out projectors. My first thoughts are to consider a 1x3 array of portrait mode 1080x1920 TV’s or similar with narrow bezels to drive from my RTX4080 and i9. But (3) 4K displays would be even better. As this is for a non-profit educational institution budget restraints are pretty severe for a no-fee public art show audience. I know projector technology fairly well from 14 years at Christie but my experience with emissive displays like LED’s or OLED’s is extremely limited.
Could anyone with experience in high ambient light installations or LED walls or similar point me to reliable technologies for doing things in the 75" diagonal/per display and up ballpark?
Even better but probably costlier would be methods of achieving no-border butt joint landscape mode displays to give one big continuous image maybe 8’ by 14’ wide or so. Does anyone know cost effective ways to do that without rock star show budgets?
And if I wanted to drive (3) 4K displays in perfect sync, what is the current state of the art to do that?
Any suggestions or hints appreciated.
