Hi,
I have a few bases that I want to switch between but because each base contains a render top they don’t stop cooking automatically when not in use.
I was wondering if anyone knew of a simple way to only have the bases that are being displayed to be active and stop the cooking of the others.
Thanks for any help.
If you turn off the viewer display button at top left of each base you will see that only one input of switch TOP is cooking - as determined by little flashing lines on connection. You can check with middle clicking on each base. See example.CookControlExample.toe (6.2 KB)
Yes I see that you’re correct. I do apologise. I could have sworn this didn’t work last time I tried it but it is working as you said now.
Thank you.
Yeah I got fooled too by this at first until someone told me you have to deactivate the viewer, which is obvious in hindsight. This switch technique is the key to getting a lot of complexity in one patch without driving your frame rate to zero!
@EtherDrawn If your switch has ‘Blending’ turned on it will cook 2 of the inputs, so perhaps that is what you were seeing previously?
Millions thanks for the solution. Got fool too by this at first
