Hi,
I want to trigger a switch in sops/shapes on a date.
I have the clock going out to a dat and then use a series of select dats to get each value to show a clock (goes off to a text top).
I want to use the ‘day’ value and the expression ‘if($V>24,1,0)’ to drive the switch. That works as far as dats go (e.g. a data switche) but I can’t work out how to get the trigger value back across to a sop switch.
Help please. I’ll post what I have so far later today.
Thanks,
Ian
It’s ok. Stand down. I figured it out.
I was able to use a ‘DATto’ to get the data (i.e. day) into a chop. Then I used an ‘expression’ ;
‘if($V>21,1,0)’, where ‘21’ is the day before the trigger date to get the values 1 and 0 and
then used these values on a ‘Switch’ sop.
Cheers,
Ian

Hi,
here it is. On the east coast of Australia, the Mayan calendar ‘date and time of oblivion’ was 22:11pm on 21/12/2012. So I wired it up to switch from a textured sphere representing the earth to the provided ‘sopexploder’. I hope this helps someone who is trying to do a NYE count down. The projection of this onto a large structure went very well. You’ll notice that I also used the clock as a texture to display the current time.
A couple of things I’d still like to learn are;
- How to align the text from the two rows of a dat horizontally to have the headings display correctly above the figures.
- How to pause a branch of nodes so that they only start running with the switch sop activates them.

Hi,
yep. Up in Newcastle NSW. Just starting out with this program but it seems to have potential. Hopefully physics will be added.
Merry Christmas,
Ian
Ian, Thank you! This will come in handy for New Years
