TDAbleton Connection Issue – Ableton (Mac) to TD (Windows) – Troubleshooting Help Needed

Setup:

Ableton: MacBook Air M1, Ableton Live 12 Trial

TouchDesigner: Windows (Razer Blade)

Testing Version: TD 2023.12120, TDAbleton 2.5.2

Performance Version: TD 2022.33910, TDAbleton 2.1

Network: Direct Ethernet cable, manually assigned IPs

Mac: 192.168.1.20

PC: 192.168.1.10

Firewalls: All OFF

Ping between machines: :white_check_mark: Works

Sending OSC from TD to Ableton: :white_check_mark: Works

Sending OSC from Ableton to TD: :x: Not working

Issue:

TDA Master in Ableton shows “Connected” but TDAbleton in TouchDesigner doesn’t connect

The IP address in TDA Master stays stuck at 127.0.0.1

Tried multiple ports (default and random), but TD still doesn’t receive data

Reinstalled TDAbleton in Mac Remote Scripts multiple times, ensured the latest version

What I’ve Tried:

  • Used different port numbers
  • Ensured Ableton is sending OSC (but TD isn’t receiving)
  • Verified TD is sending OSC to Ableton correctly
  • Checked for IP assignment issues

Has anyone experienced this issue before?
Thanks!

I think this has to do with some kind of network buffer size on Mac. I don’t have a Mac so can’t test. Anyone else with this setup (Live on Mac, TD on PC) any info would be helpful.

Another important bit of info:

The setup was working previously PC to PC. The introduction of the Mac started the problem…

Passing on from convo with @bangnoise:

Ask her macOS version (consider asking her to update if it’s not 15.3.1) and what the ethernet adapter she’s using is (the M1 Macbook Air doesn’t have an ethernet port)
As a test could ask her to try over wifi too, just to see if it makes a difference
