I’ve managed to get TDabletone connected to Ableton and sending midi notes which can be seen coming through in the TDAMidi device, however I am unable to get this midi information to effect anything in Ableton. If I put an instrument on the track it will not play it (unlike all the tutorials where the instrument will begin playing when sent midi notes).
How can I get the incoming midi information to do something in Ableton
?
Hi Fabs. I am having the same issue. Some of the things I have tried are described here in this post: TDAbleton MIDI setup problem on PC midi problem
I am curious if you open Live preferences, midi tab do you see any midi ports in red? Are you using PC Windows10 and Ableton 11?
I have written to TDAbleton author Ivan in my post but no answer yet.
Do you use any kind of midi loop back utility?
Gord
@Fabs hard to say what’s happening there. Can you send your toe and Live set to ivan@derivative.ca? Be sure to “Save and Collect” when saving the set and if possible use built-in instruments for the test (sending VSTs often causes problems.
@gordharris I’m going to answer in your other post
