Hi.
I am proposed a project in teaching Touchdesigner to high-school students and uni students. And I am asked what would be the price for these classes. It would be my first time teaching but I have an experience of 6 years of using touch as a main source of delivering projects. Of course the pricing is related to country, context of the project and other aspects too. But I am just curious if there are people out there that teach to youngsters and can give me a hint about the hours they teach and the payment they get.
Thank you.
This is really hard to answer, because there’s a lot of logistics that usually go into it. Are you teaching a full semester/year? Is it a short workshop? What experience do the students have? Etc, etc. I would say that it is more contingent on the kind of work that you’re going to be doing more than anything.
Yes it is true I know is a complex question. Teaching for 3 months for high schoolers. Experience of the students - none.
Hi
I did this as an external teacher in a french university : here it’s 40€ an hour — please don’t laugh.
They consider 1h of course to be 4h of work, so at end of the day they paid me 10€/h…

Hello! Although teaching is a very beautiful experience, you must take into account your work, the time you invest and your knowledge. Success in your new project!
Okay. I would say that you should pitch it as a stipend then, specifically thinking about prep time + teaching time. Hourly isn’t okay for this situation I don’t think. I would ask for a few thousand to be honest, especially considering prep time.
