If you have a font with a custom typeface like condensed etc and you go to switch to another font which doesn’t have that typeface the TOP chooses a blank typeface and then you can’t change it due to the menu being greyed out. It’d be good if when switching fonts the typeface parameter reset to the first menu entry if that variant doesn’t exist.
At the moment you have to remember which font you just used and switch back to it or re-create the TOP.
currently can’t reproduce in 2025.32050. While the Typeface parameter is blank, it’s not disabled in my case. To test, I switched to “Segoe UI”, picked “Light Italic” in the Typeface parameter and then switched back to “Verdana”.
If you have a case where this doesn’t work, can share instructions for us to replicate?
I was running in the 550 build actually but I upgraded to the latest to check for you and now I’ve got even weirder text top behaviour where I select the font, the menu opens in a popup and then when I select the font TouchDesigner freezes (sometimes but not always) and then de-focuses (always) and whatever I have open behind shows up. In the case of the attached video it’s this thread.
The original typeface issue doesn’t seem to occur in the new build though.
haven’t seen that bug in a while - the issue being the menu rendering in a window of sorts.
Can you give me an estimate on how many fonts you have installed and your screen resolution plus possible DPI settings?
I have 222 fonts installed. (dont ask)
My monitor is 2560x1600@144hz set to 125% DPI scaling but if I mess around with the settings or even try a 4k monitor at 100% the issue persists.
