The dread console is back

I truly dislike the “always-on-top” pop-up Console window that nags me about all my errors (that’s nice that it does that, but not ALL the time as I’m developing and things are in flux) and every time Touch opens a window of some kind, telling me it opened a window (great…)

It always gets in the way of my screen space, and just now it even got in the way of a pop-up menu, and Touch started chugging as I tried to move it off to the side so I could click on “paste text”…

I always move it out of the way, and it always comes back to haunt the readability of my session. Isn’t there a way to turn it off/on at will?

Probably there is…right?

Try setting the “TOUCH_TEXT_CONSOLE” environment variable.

the default was changed to no console recently. will probably show up in a build near you soon.

that’s good - although I did mention it’s nice to have a way to scroll through all the errors - when you want to.

Is there a way to take a look at them? A dialogs->console that you can open/close at will?

Not yet, but there will be. Thats part of the whole error overhaul.
