HI all,
i have been wrestling with a problem and finally realised that the soution was actually simple after really nutting it out.
I have a dell 2-finger multitouch monitor attached to my laptop. Whenever I extended the desktop from one to the other, I’d touch the touchscreen but the touchscreen cursor would go to the other monitor (the laptop screen instead of the touchscreen) no matter how I arranged the monitors etc…
here’s how to fix it. (thanks to microsoft help site)
- Go to Control Panel and search for “Touch”.
- Click “Tablet PC Settings”
- Click “Setup…” to the right of “Configure your pen and touch displays”
- Choose “Touch Input…”
- Hit the “Enter” key until you see the instructions appear on your actual touch monitor.
- Touch the screen and it will say something like “Hit enter to move to the next step”.
making the touchscreen the primary display can sometimes work too but I like to have the laptop screen as my primary display and just use the touchscreen for the Touch display output and interface, especially while building a touchscreen project.
