Touch Designer window freezes when overlapping with resolume

Im experiencing a similar issue to this one linked here,

When I open touch designer and Resolume on my laptop, as soon as touch designer is selected from the task bar to go over the Resolume window, everything freezes, or at least gets extremely slow to the point where clicking the X to close TD takes about 5 seconds to open the dialogue to save/quit. Resolume continues to work with no issues when this happens.

I got it to stop doing this for about 5 minutes after running DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth and restarting before opening both programs, but then it froze up again after no particular action other than switching back to the TD screen from Resolume.

I followed everything in every thread I could find, short of freshly re-installing windows and nothing has worked yet. hoping someone has some other advice I could try before I go and start from the ground up.

Touch Designer version: 2023.12370
Resolume version: 7.21.3 Rev38686
laptop model: MSI Katana 17 B13VGK
GPU: RTX 4070 laptop GPU
Nvidia Driver version: Game ready driver 576.52
Processor: i7-13620H

It’s possibly related to an issue with the recent Nvidia drivers when working with screens with VRR or HDR, unclear.

Can you try and downgrade to Nvidia 555.XX drivers?

You could also try to disable HDR and VRR if you indeed have those features on your computer.

Best,
Michel

I’ve disabled VRR, its been about an hour of me using it with Rsolume, every so often trying to get it to freeze again and it seems like we’re in the clear. Out of curiosity where did you see to disable VRR with this issue?

We determined it by doing some testing until we found a laptop/config where we were able to reproduce the issue.

Incredible work, that was super fast to re-create the issue. Thank you all so much!
